Come on out and enjoy this beautiful winter day of doing a 9 mile loop hike in Pisgah National Forest. We will be looking for icicles, frozen formations, and other winter wonderland things nature has to offer. We will also be going through several tunnels. This moderate to difficult hike has the following: bush whacking (scrambling up and down), railroad track walking, railroad tunnels, and road walking. Bring hiking poles and boot traction devices. Pack headlamps for the tunnels.1000 foot of elevation gain.

Pack layers, lunch, and water.

No restrooms at trailhead and none along the trail.

Note: can be slippery out from snow and ice so please come prepared!

Meet at Bernard Mountain Trailhead.
