What we're about
IMPORTANT: Please post a clear photo of yourself with your first name and last initial to join the group.
This group is for 40's and 50's and 60's who love outdoor activities like hiking, biking and kayaking. We also like to visit new and interesting places and do other fun stuff!
Children and teenagers are not allowed because it is for adults.
We mostly hike between 6 and 9 miles, with shorter hikes or walks of 3 or 4 miles mixed in occasionally. We keep a pretty fast pace.
Biking is usually 20 to 30 miles, except when we ride along the canal, which is 14 miles.
The Main focus of the group is hiking and biking. Other things we have done or may do include: dinner and dancing, zip-lining, fairs and festivals, house parties, museums, flower gardens. You name it! Most of our meetups are on Saturdays and Sundays. As time permits, I try to do some fun things. I have tried weekends away, white water rafting trips etc. but didn't not get a big response, so I tend to just ask some of my friends to go now. I have also found that people don't like to drive very far. Since I like the adventure I do like to drive to places of interest. I always offer rides when I can.
Some of the places we hike are Borderland in Easton, Massasoit in Taunton, Blue Hills in Milton, also parks in Foxboro, Sharon, Duxbury, Middleboro, Carver, Hingham, Dartmouth, Cape Cod and Rhode Island. Bike rides include, The Shining Sea in N. Falmouth, The Cape cod Canal, East Bay, in Bristol, RI, Black Stone Valley Bikeway, Lincoln, RI, Myles Standish in Carver/Plymouth and country road rides in the beautiful Lakeville/Rochester/Middleboro area. We are a group of very positive, happy, nature lovers!
