Bicycle Aurora Urbex Adventure Saturday Safari Ride

By request, let's have a multi-modal adventure and use RTD lightrail and our bikes to explore SW Aurora/SE Denver!

We'll meetup at the Aurora Municipal Center and ride over to the lightrail station at Aurora Metro Center (just south of Alameda Ave, next to Aurora Mall), take the R line to Nine Mile Station, transfer to the H line and ride the line to Southmoor Station. There will be some bike portage at the Southmoor RTD Station, so please make sure you are able to carry or lift your bike safely. Elevators are available, if necessary. Then we are on bikes through some interesting suburban neighborhoods, back to the Highline Canal trail and back to the Municipal Center. Easy peasy, right? This ride will have plenty of on-street sharrow, bike lane and paved, regional trail riding. About 14 miles of riding with restroom/snack stops at an 11-13 mph pace, no-drop.

You will need to purchase a 3 hour RTD pass for this ride (~$2.75) at the Aurora Metro Center ticket kiosk or use your RTD MyRide app to purchase it on your phone. Pro Tip: Don't activate the pass until we are at the station if you purchase it on your phone!

Bicycle Aurora Liability Release

BY ATTENDING this group ride event you ACKNOWLEDGE and ACCEPT the following:
1. I ACKNOWLEDGE, agree, and represent that I understand the nature of bicycling activities and that I am qualified, in good health, and in proper physical condition to participate in such activity. I further acknowledge that the group ride activity will be conducted over public pavements, trails, on-street bike lanes and facilities open to the public, and upon which the hazards of traveling are to be expected. I further agree and warrant that if, at any time, I believe conditions to be unsafe, I will immediately discontinue further participation.
2. I FULLY UNDERSTAND that (a) BICYCLING ACTIVITIES INVOLVE RISKS AND DANGERS OF SERIOUS BODILY INJURY, INCLUDING PERMANENT DISABILITY, PARALYSIS AND DEATH ("Risks"); (b) these Risks and dangers may be caused by my own actions or inactions, the actions or inactions of others participating in the group ride activity, the conditions in which the group ride activity takes place, or the negligence of others; (c) there may be OTHER RISKS AND SOCIAL AND ECONOMIC LOSSES either not known to me or not readily foreseeable at this time; and I FULLY ACCEPT AND ASSUME ALL SUCH RISKS AND ALL RESPONSIBILITY FOR LOSSES, COSTS, AND DAMAGES I may incur as a result of my participation; (d) I acknowledge that Bicycle Aurora, event organizers, ride leaders, and any event volunteers will not be liable for any accidents or damages through this group ride.
