Join Outdoor Afro, certified Forest Therapy Guide Tasha from CenterTime Retreats for a special Forest Bathing session!

Forest Bathing is allowing yourself to be guided at a snails pace through a series of (optional) invitations. These invitations are designed to assist you in opening your senses so that you are able to experience the healing benefits of the natural world more holistically.

Forest Bathing has become popularized in Japan where it is known as Shinrin-Yoku, which means taking in the forest atmosphere during a leisurely walk. It is a therapy that was developed in Japan during the 1980s, becoming a cornerstone of preventive health care and healing in Japanese medicine. Research supports the benefits as: enhanced immune system, stress and cortisol reduction, lower blood pressure, anger and anxiety, and more.

What to Expect: a slow paced walk with guided sensory activities, individual reflection and optional group sharing.

What to wear / bring:

* Warm layers of comfy clothes
* sneakers or hiking boots
* a liter of water
* Bug Repellant
* Sunscreen
* A light backpack to carry your belongings so your hands are free
* A journal
* Something to sit on (Something to sit on such as a light campy chair, blanket, towel or small tarp. We will be sitting and the ground may be wet or cold.)

Unless there is a significant downpour or storm, we will still walk in the rain so consider bringing an umbrella or whatever you need to feel comfortable. We will be moving very slowly so dress warmer than you would if you were going on a regular walk.

**The event cost is $30**

Unless you have purchased a ticket please do not rsvp as Going! I will reconcile the list with the host a few days before the event. The reason for this is that I want to respect that we are getting a great rate for this experience and I do not want to take advantage of our Host's kindness.

Note - the Retreat is mostly conducted in silent communion with nature. We highly discourage the use of cellphones and/or other electronics. It's a time to plug-in to Nature's Bounty!

\*\*\*The parking lot fills quickly. Please carpool, consider rideshares or public transportation. There is also a smaller parking area across from the police station.
