We'll do about 6 miles on the rocky trails of Sourland Mountain. The early part of this hike climbs about 400 feet, weaving around some of New Jersey's best rocks. After that, the trail becomes a relatively easy stroll. Moderate pace on the climb, brisk pace after that.

Hiking poles and sturdy boots are a good idea. Bring plenty to drink and some snacks. We'll stop somewhere along the way for lunch. Our route will include the Devils Half-Acre, Tributary, and Maple Flats Trail Loop.

Be sure to arrive 10 to 15 minutes early to sign in and hear the safety talk. There is a port-a-john at the parking area.
