Details
June 21-23: Three Day Backpacking Trip in New Hampshire: Strenuous trip, with several large climbs, though the hike distance is short. While it is south of the White Mountains, it still will be somewhat rocky so be prepared for ankle/knee strain. Gorgeous views from the mountain tops. Note that at this time of year, the water sources may be limited, so be prepared to carry excess water while you hike from campsite to campsite.
· Sat, June 21: Drive to start, stage cars, and then start out with a 300 ft climb to the top of Ore Hill. From there its slight ups & downs for a total of 2.8 miles to the Ore Hill Campsite.
· Sun, June 22: Longest day, 8.6 miles, with 2,000 ft climb to the top of South Mountain, a steep drop to Hexcuba Shelter, then 1.5 miles to Jacob’s brook (water, tent sites, but no privy)
· Mon, June 23: A 7.6 mile hike, with 1,500 climb to the top of Smart’s Mountain, then a descent to Lyme-Dorchester Road..
Limit of 15 backpackers. Hike Leader is Kevin Drevik (856) 630-2485 or [kdrevik@aol.com](mailto:kdrevik@aol.com).
Based on the past few trips (a lot of folks signed up and then cancelled, some at last minute, and kept others from going on the trip) Kevin reserves the right to move people off the trip who have backed out previously, in order to allow folks with a demonstrated interest in the trip to attend.
