If you are new to my hikes you have to message or email me before you can register for this hike. Priority on my hikes will be given to those who attend the hikes or who cancel their reservation at least 24 hours ahead of time.
We begin on the Atlantic White Cedar Trail (white) as described by the brochure as a beautiful Atlantic White Cedar swamp and oak through a pitch pine and oak forest. The far end of the loop runs parallel with a section of the Whispering Pines Trail (blue). This trail passes through serene Atlantic White Cedar swamps and abandoned cranberry bogs nestled among the pines. This part of the hike is approx 5.3 miles. After the first part of the hike we will have lunch. We then drive down Route 532 to the Franklin Parker Preserve (Chatsworth Entrance).( approx 7.5 mile drive)
The Franklin Preserve Red Trail was rated number 1 by South Jersey Trails 10th year Anniversary in the top 25 Hiking Trails in South Jersey. We will hike the red trail and see if we can find the big chairs. The red trail is close to 6 miles.
The total distance of the hike is 11---11.5 miles. I will try to maintain a 3-rate. Bring water, lunch and snacks. Questions contact Al D. email asilviod888@yahoo.com, cell day of hike only 640 208- 0872. There are no restrooms at the beginning of hike but there are 2 ports-potties at Franklin Parker Preserve.
