Arney's Mount

Details
You must be a member of the Outdoor Club of South Jersey to participate. Go to ocsj.org to join.
We will loop around the trail at Arney’s Mount twice at an easy to moderate pace. This is about 2.5 miles long for a single loop. There will be the opportunity to cut out after the first loop. But, we will continue on for a second loop in the opposite direction. Toward the end, there is a second cut-out point that would shave about ¼ mile off the total distance. The entire hike, with no cut-out is about 5 miles. Most of the trail is paved, and the rest is wide with gravel. Ticks should not be an issue, if you stay on the path. But, be prepared anyway.
If it is dreadfully hot and humid, we may forgo the second loop.
We will start the hike at 9:45 sharp. Please arrive 15 minutes early to allow time to sign in and tie your shoes.
· Bring plenty of water. Much of the hike is out in the sun.
· Bring sunscreen. Much of the hike is out in the sun!
· There is a port-a-potty available at parking.
· Ending time is approximate. This is a relatively slow hike – a happy meander, mostly around a meadow. Our pace varies between slow and moderate, depending on terrain and how we are feeling. But, if you want us to slow down, do not hesitate to ask. We will be happy to oblige. Please do not ask us to speed up.
· Although pets are allowed in the park, there are no pets allowed on this hike.
· Check comments for weather cancellation before you leave home.
· The locator pin might be off a little. If so, just drive down the road a bit until you see the park entrance. The pin won’t be off by too much.
· There are picnic tables under a small pavilion by the parking lot. Please feel free to join us for lunch there after the hike. BYOPB (Bring your own protein bar)
