Murals, Monuments and Sculptures in Philly’s Center City West

Details
Join Pat & Diane on a 3 ½ mile walk in West Center City Philadelphia. We’ll start at the magnificent Comcast Center at 1701 JFK Blvd. (17th St & JFK). We’ll see and hear about the Calder legacy at Logan Circle and a variety of murals, monuments and sculptures through the city as we weave our way to the Schuykill River and back. This is a slow walk with a narration at "art stops". If you're looking for a good cardio workout - this is not it. This hike is limited to current Outdoor Club members only.
We’ll start at 10 am SHARP. Meet Diane in the front lobby of the Comcast Building at 1701 JFK Blvd - not the entrance on Arch St.- It’s about a 6 block walk from the 15/16 Locust PATCO stop. If you are unfamiliar with PATCO, or just want to travel over as a group, meet Pat at the PATCO WOODCREST station by 9:00 am and travel in with her. Please message her to let her know to look for you at that station. Ticket machines take cash or credit.
Wear comfortable shoes as the walk is on hard pavement. There will be a few flights of steps on this walk. Bring water as it is always hotter in the city. Rest rooms are available at the start. If you change your mind about coming, please change your RSVP as soon as possible to allow waitlisted people to get on with ample notice. Any cancels, questions, etc., please text Diane and identify yourself in the text in addition to changing your RSVP – I DO NOT CHECK MEETUP MESSAGES THE MORNING OF THE WALK.
