Mt. Tammany & Sunfish Pond

Details

10.5+ mi.
1,500'+ elevation
Brisk Pace on average - 3 mph

This will be a brisk hike on a loop that goes over Mt. Tammany and wraps around Sunfish Pond before following Dunnfield Creek back down to the parking. We will begin with the ascent of Mt. Tammany where we will get most of our elevation in 1.5 - 2 miles. We'll pause at the top for the great views and to catch our breath. After that we hike along the Fire Road to the Buckwood Trail which we take to Sunfish Pond where we have lunch with a beautiful view of the pond. After lunch we take the Dunnfield Creek Trail along the creek back to parking. There are 5 or 6 water crossings on the way. This is a challenging hike so know your abilities before signing up. Bring water, food, poles (if you're into that), and rain gear as only heavy rain will cancel.

If you need to contact me my cell is 609-471-4119, however once I get to the parking lot my service is spotty I may not be able to receive or respond.
