Bald Knob and Turtleback Mountain Loop

This is the moderate hike for the trip.

1400-1500' elevation
moderate to brisk pace

We meet at the Castle in the Clouds Conservation Area. We hike past the Shannon Pond Dam on the Bald Knob Trail up to our loop. About 1/3 of the way around the loop we break off to summit Bald Knob out and back. We then continue around the loop for another 1/2 to 1 mile and then break off again to summit Turtleback Mtn. where we have lunch. After that we go back to the loop and continue down to the parking lot. Great views all the way up as well as from the top of both peaks. There are restrooms near the parking area. Bring water, food, poles if you want and rain gear.
