Scouting Ocean Grove and Continuing to Asbury Park----- 9----10 Miles

Ocean Grove is part of Neptune Township, in Monmouth County,New Jersey. It has a population of 3,057 people at the 2020 census. Ocean Grove in noted for its abundant examples of Victorian Architecture and for the Great Auditorium, acclaimed as the state's most wondrous wooden structure soaring and sweeping, alive with the sound of music.
In July, 1869,Reverend W.B. Osborn and Reverend Stokes and other Methodist ministers camped at a shaded, well-drained spot decided to establish a permanent Christian camp meeting community called Ocean Grove. Drawing from major populations centers of New York City and Philadelphia, Ocean Grove became a popular destination during the growth of the camp meeting movement in post-Civil-War America. In 1870, the Ocean Grove Camp Meeting Association was incorporated and land was purchased. About twenty tents were pitched that summer. There were originally 660 tents at one time. Today there are 114 tents bungalows less than 500 square feet. They contain a kitchen, bathroom and common space. There is a waiting list for those hoping to rent each summer and families hold on to their tents for years.
We begin at Bradley Beach Train Station . We continue through Ocean Grove Streets and pass the Great Auditorium. Next we walk over Eastern Footbridge go over Wesley Lake in Asbury Park to the Convention Center. On our return route we take boardwalk to Bradley Beach. We walk along Fletcher Lake on our way back to train station.

Arrive at least 15 minutes early for sign-ins,restrooms, adjust boots, safety talk, etc.
Parking at Train Station is Free on Weekends. I hope we can find restrooms before Asbury Park.
