Cattus Island County Park in Spring---7- 8 Miles

If you are new to my hikes you have to message or email me before you can register. Priority on my hikes will be given to those who attend my hikes or who cancel their reservation at least 24 hours ahead of time.
Cattus Island County Park spans 500 acres with 7 miles of trails. These trails take you to the pennisula on Silver Bay,Mosquito Cove, Applegate Cove and Barnegat Bay. Cattus Island was voted 6th on the list for the top 25 Hiking Trails in South Jersey by the South Jersey Trails Organization.
.On our route we will visit each trail until we reach the beach at the northern end .We will hike the main trail, red (Maritime) trail,yellow (Yellowbank) trail, blue (Island) trail,blue and white (Island Extension) trail and orange (Hidden Beach) trail. We finish on the white (Boardwalk) Trail to the picnic tables. We make a short stop to view the Cliffs on our route.
Some of these trails will be very muddy, with visible tree roots. Most of the trails begin or end on the main trail so if you are not comfortable doing all the trails,pick your route.
At the end of the hike I am planning to have lunch at the picnic area near parking lot. The hike will be 7-8 miles at 3- mph..Bring water snacks and bug spray...We will be taking a few short breaks on our route.There are bathrooms at the Environmental Center and porta-potties along our route. Please check the comment section before you leave your house for cancellations. Cancellations will be posted by 6AM on day of event. Arrive at least 15 minutes early for sign-ins, restrooms, boot adjustments, safety talk, etc. I leave on time.
