Let’s do about 6 miles in about 2 hours at Allaire State Park - at a BRISK pace (3mph). Please know your abilities. Our club insurance covers you if you stay behind the leader and in front of the sweep. We’ll do a loop through the historic village then head north on woods trails. This park has a number of great water views; usually plenty of waterfowl. Trails range from a few that are single track dirt - but most are wider - allowing side-by-side hiking. We will see what’s blooming now in the woods and see beginnings of fall colors. The trails are mostly flat, with just a few areas of moderate grades, a couple smaller hills, some boardwalk, occasional uneven terrain and tree roots. Also, maybe a few wet, muddy areas - mostly avoidable. Hiking boots/shoes are suggested. Poles - only if you think you’ll need them. Things to bring: Water, bug spray, sun protection. We will meet in the large parking area off the entrance from 4265 Atlantic
Avenue, Wall - adjacent to Allaire Historic Village and near porto-potties and restrooms. Please consider arriving 15 minutes early, to sign-in, gear up, use restroom, meet others. I’ll be next to my White Subaru Crosstrek, with black roof and kayak rack.
