Give Thanks and Give Back Trail Work Day

This is our traditional trail work day held every Thanksgiving weekend. We have such a beautiful and special area in the pinelands to hike. Let's work together to keep the trails open and free of brush.
This year we will partner with the Wharton State Forest trail maintenance staff to trim the Mullica River Wilderness Trail from the Atsion office to the turn off to the wilderness campsites. We will spot people off at several locations in this section so no one will have to walk far. This trail is for hikers only and is blazed yellow. It is a total of 9.5 miles from Atsion to Batsto with a good portion along the river with some new views.
Bring clippers or loppers, work gloves and bug repellant. Also water and a snack. Optional lunch after by our cars so bring a chair if staying. I will provide cookies for dessert.
Children over 10 welcome but sorry no pets. There is a port a pot at the parking area and many facilitrees. Any bad weather cancellation will be by 7am. Please arrive 15 minutes early to sign in and gear up.
