Combining the Bunker Hill Bogs and Metedeconk Preserve Trails -- 9---10 Miles

If you are new to my hikes you have to message or email me to register for the hike. Priority on my hikes will given to those who attend the hikes or who cancel their reservation at least 24 hours ahead of time.
We begin on the Purple Heart Trail and connect to the blue trail out and back. We continue on the red trail and connect to the green trail.in a loop back to Tee Junction. We finish on the main (Purple Heart) trail back to trailhead. This hike is 6-7 miles. We take lunch break. After lunch we drive to the Metedeconk Preserve.

The Metedeconk Preserve contains 79 acres of hardwood swamp and floodplain forest characteristic of the northern Pine Barrens. It offers scenic views of the Metedeconk River. It's trails are wide and flat, muddy and contain a lot of tree roots. . Some portions of the trail pass over raised boardwalks that enable hikers to get very close to the floodplain and wetlands.The Silver Stream trail has a lot of boardwalks.
We begin on the Silver Stream trail and continue on the Steve Kitay trail to end. We finish back on Silver Stream Trail to parking lot. This hike is approximately 3 miles. The total miles of the hike is 9-10 miles and try to maintain 3MPH pace, Bring water, lunch, snacks and something to sit on.. Before leaving the house check comments section for cancellations. If hike is cancelled, it will be posted by 6AM on day of event. Arrive at least 15 minutes early for sign-ins ,restrooms, adjust boots, and safety talk etc. I leave on time.There might be a porta- potty at Bunker Hill Bus Recreation Area, no facilities at Metedeconk Preserve. Kim will be co-leader for this hike.
Driving Directions to Metedeconk Preserve from Bunker Hill Bogs Recreation Area -- ----When leaving Bunker Hill Bogs Recreation Area make a right turn on Route 527/ Veterans Highway ( 1.3 miles). Make a right turn on Butterfly Road ( 2.0 miles ). Continue on Frank Applegate Road ( 1.1 miles) The Metedeconk Preserve is on the right side of road .Total Driving Miles Bunker Hill Bogs Recreation Area To Metedeconk Preserve 4.5 Miles. .
