Cattus Island and Chang Thai

We will hike 5.5-6 miles on the trails of Cattus Island to a few scenic water view locations along Silver Bay, Mosquito Cove, and Barnegat Bay. The trails are sometimes over boardwalks through the marshes and we may experience some muddy or icy conditions depending on rain or snow. We will hike at a brisk pace, approximately 3 mph to finish the hike in 2-2.5 hours.

The environmental center should be open for restrooms but there are also porta potties available throughout the park. Please arrive 15 minutes early to sign in, we will leave on time. We will cancel by 9:00 a.m. for heavy rain, snow, or other unsafe weather conditions.

All are welcome to go to nearby Chang Thai Kitchen for lunch. They have reasonable lunch specials including vegetarian options. Please comment if you plan to join us so we can let the restaurant know.
