Batona Trail Winter 2026, Week 3 of 5 Batsto to Carranza 13 miles.

Meet at the Carranza Memorial parking lot by 9:30 am to sign in. Carranza Memorial is about 9 miles from Hwy 206. (The parking lot has 3 parking aisles - park on the last one with the port-a-potty.)
Please do not come out for this 13 mile hike with out building up with a couple of 10 milers in recent months.
We will Shuttle (36 minutes) to Batsto Village parking lot (there is a restroom here).
We will move at a moderate pace with breaks for clothing adjustments bio and lunch. Along the way we will see or pass the Batsto River, Quaker bridge, Lower Forge Camp and the trail Half way bench, ending back at Carranza Memorial parking lot.

Bring water a lunch or snack, boots (water/mud expected), bug spray, hat gloves. You may also want a day pack Hiking poles, (Yak trax's or Micro spikes if icy conditions). Dress in layers preferably not cotton.
Leader will have hand warmers available if needed.

Must be OCSJ member & willing to shuttle. **The shuttle is not part of the OCSJ event.**We must have volunteers to take the shuttle drivers back to their cars. Please keep shuttle to no more then 4 persons per vehicle.
Each section will take place on a Friday through January and February. you do not need to attend all 5.

Check Meetup for any changes 7:30 am before the hike. Rain, snow, or ice may cancel.
