Wednesday 10am hike at Huber Woods (Middletown)
Details
Let’s do about 6 miles at Huber Woods Park - at a BRISK pace - goal is to finish in about 2 hours. I’m thinking to be a bit adventurous - try trail routes I don’t have recent timings for. Trails are mostly dirt single track with a few having wider sections. Plenty of wooded views, some open fields and ponds. A great place to view wildlife and wildflowers. The park terrain varies from flat to very hilly, with a number of locations having rocky, uneven terrain and tree roots. Hiking boots/shoes are strongly suggested. Poles if you think you’ll need them. Things to bring: Water, bug spray, sun protection, layered clothing. We will meet in the parking area at the top of the hill near the Huber Woods Environmental Center (an original Germanic Mansion - with restrooms). Address is: 25 Browns Dock Rd, Middletown NJ. Please arrive a few to 25 minutes early: To sign in, gear up, use restroom, meet others. I’ll be next to my White Subaru Crosstrek, with black roof and kayak rack.
