Spring Workout on Baldpate Mountain

Baldpate mountain, part of the volcanic Sourland Mountain Ridge, is the highest point in Mercer County. We will hike approximately 8-10 miles at a MODERATE pace depending on the weather & trail conditions. with approximately 1500 feet plus of elevation. Trails range from continuous steep rocky inclines, packed dirt, heavily rooted, climbing over tree trunks and fording a creek on rocks. Challenging hike overall, NOT recommended for beginners. Good sturdy waterproof hiking shoes and insect repellent are recommended. We will also take in some history as well! PLEASE NOTE: Picture of house is where you turn into parking area off RT 29. ALSO,Please arrive at least 15 minutes early to allow time to adjust equipment and sign in. No restrooms in parking area but will have access to rest rooms at about 1 mile from start.
