This will be a challenging hike on a loop that goes over Mt. Tammany and wraps around Sunfish Pond before following Dunnfield Creek back down to the parking with great views. There are bathrooms at the parking lot.

We will begin at the red dot trailhead with the ascent of Mt. Tammany where we will get most of our elevation in 1.5 - 2 miles. We'll pause at the top for the great views and to catch our breath. After that we hike along the Fire Road to the Buckwood Trail which we take to Sunfish Pond where we have lunch with a great view of the pond.

After lunch we hike around the pond on the AT over a small rock scramble. Then we take the Dunnfield Creek Trail along the creek back to the parking lot. There are 5 or 6 water crossings on the way.

Bring water, food, rain gear, and poles if you want. If you need to contact me my cell is 609-471-4119, however once I get to the parking lot my service is spotty I may not be able to receive or respond.
