Potter’s Tavern, Cohanzick Zoo

Matthew Potter’s Tavern was built around 1767 in the village of Cohansey Bridge later to become Bridgetown and eventually Bridgeton. The Plain Dealer was an anonymous weekly hand written newspaper at Potter’s Tavern that was critical of British rule and openly called for independence.
This about a 4.5 mile walk starting at Bridgeton High School through the city park and the zoo, along the raceway and along the Cohansey River and into town to Rt. 49 and the Tavern and then back.
The Tavern opens at 12PM, this is a 10:30 start. Bring a lunch, water and a snack.
Bathrooms are at the Zoo.
Bring sunscreen and a hat.
Arrive 15 minutes early to sign in.
