Short Hike to the Observatory

Hike to the Observatory.
We will go on a 3 miles hike round trip. This is a short hike. It has 800 feet elevation gain. We will walk by Ferndell! It is a pretty spot with trees and streams! Meet at 10:00 AM but leave at 10:15 AM by the corner of Fern Dell Dr. and Los Feliz Blvd. Map for meeting location. Look at where the map says Los Feliz Blvd and Ferndell meet (http://www.laparks.org/dos/parks/griffithPK/pdf/gpmap.pdf). Meet in front of the bear. Hike will last approx. 2 hours or less. Bring water with shoes with good traction. Sneakers are ok. We may make a short stop (30-40 minutes) at the observatory to get something to eat/drink or to explore. If u want to stay longer, remember your way back. If u decide to come back later, make sure u get back before sunset (around 6 PM) because of parking restrictions. If you want to stay and come back after dark, park south of Los Feliz Blvd. because of parking restrictions.

Get off at Western & Hollywood station and walk up to meeting spot. Short walk.
