Hike to Henninger Flats

Details
Come on a moderately paced 6 miles round trip, 1400 ft gain hike on a horse trail and fire road-the historic Mt Wilson Toll Road--most of it is a fire road (wide trails). There are outstanding views of LA basin/ San Gabriel Valley. The top of the hike has pine trees, campground, nature center/museum, picnic tables, water, vending machine, restrooms and an experimental nursery! Meet at 12:45 PM, but leave at 1 PM. Bring 2 qts. water, hat, sun protection, a jacket and comfortable shoes to hike.
We'll meet in the parking lot by the Nature Center (the only building there). Parking lot may be full. May have to park in the residential area above. Get there early due to parking problem!
THis hike is approximately 3-4 hours.
Hike isn't recommended for beginners since we are going up all the way! This is a hard hike due to the elevation gain--all up hill.
There is a warning about falling rocks and landslides--hike at your own risk. I've hiked it several times & haven't had any problems.
Rain postpones hike (even a little rain).
