Hike Murphy Hanrehan followed by socializing at Bricksworth Beer Co.

Let's hike Murphy Hanrehan Park! The peaceful wilderness at Murphy-Hanrehan Park Reserve in northeast Scott County features glacial ridges, hilly terrain and an extensive, lush forest. This park features one of the most challenging cross-country ski areas in the Twin Cities, and a popular mountain bike trail. With the exception of the trails, the park reserve remains undeveloped.

We'll hike for approximately 5.5-6 miles at a 16:00 - 16:30 minute per mile pace. This pace can be considered fast for some. Please make sure you can keep the pace as the leader will need to keep going. There are some larger hills so we can somewhat accommodate for those with the fast pace. Decent shoes are necessary as the description says, it is hilly terrain & the trails are not paved.

After the hike we can head to Bricksworth Beer Co. It is located at 12257B Nicollet Ave, S, Burnsville, MN 55337

Tips for Hiking
1. Dress for about 10-15 degrees warmer than the actual temp. You will get warm hiking... especially on those hills!
2. Decent shoes. Hiking boots or tennis shoes.
3. Water as needed.
4.Sunscreen or bug spray as desired
5. Dry shirt for socializing. It helps as you cool down from the hike to prevent chills.

Other items to note:

• Dogs are welcome, but must be kept on a leash per park rules. Please bring enough bags to pick up after your pet.
• Don't leave valuables in your car. Not worth the risk.
• Please be on time. If you are running late, please post a comment so the leaders know.
• By signing up for this hike, you agree that you can keep the pace posted. You can check out your time with a free app that uses GPS for your smart phone or watch. Map My Run is a good option and what is used to monitor the pace on the hike.
