Let's hit the trail followed by an ale (at Bald Man Brewing). Celebrate the predicted high of 60 degrees with a hike at Old Cedar Ave Bridge! The route will cross the bridge and do the side opposite Long Meadow Lake & Bluff Trail but will have beautiful sites & hopefully wildlife! This hike is about 5.5 miles long with a pace of 17-18 minute miles - depending upon the terrain. This pace is considered moderate as the important objective for the day is to enjoy the weather. No one will be left behind.

We'll meet in the parking lot by the trailhead sign at Cedar Nicols Trailhead. NOTE: this is not the Bloomington location trailhead. Use the pin with this event. If you don't have a smart phone, or the app on your phone, look up the address for Cedar Nichols trailhead. As with any place that you may park, please do not leave valuables in your car. We have never incurred an incident at this location, however, we have heard of incidents and it seems to be on the rise. Don't give a thief a reason to break into your vehicle.

After the hike we can go to Bald Man Brewing (as we will be driving right past it) for their iconic beverage selection :) Maybe sit on the patio depending upon the weather??

Hiking Tips:
1. dress for the weather. You will get warm, so layers work well. Even if you get warm, be smart and don't dress for fashion.
2. Decent shoes. Hiking boots work well. The trail may be muddy.
3. Dogs are welcome but must be kept on a leash.
4. Bring a dry shirt for socializing afterwards. It feels better & helps to prevent chills.

Please keep your RSVP up to date. If you aren't able to make it, or something comes up on the way to the hike, please post a comment. It is hard to wait in the cold for someone that may not be coming.

By signing up for this event, you agree to take personal responsibility for any incidents/accidents that may happen. It is nature and there are roots/rocks on the trail and falls can happen.

See you on the trail!
