Casual Hike at Willow River State Park, WI
Details
It's waterfall season and 3/30 has a predicted high of 70 degrees! Let's head over to Willow River State Park near Hudson, Wisconsin.
- See link above for directions, trails, and basic info.
- We'll meet in the parking lot immediately next to the Park Office, as shown in the directions.
- You must purchase a WI State Parks pass.
- Indoor restroom/water may be limited, but pit toilets are available throughout the park.
The pace may range from 20-25 minute miles as we navigate inclines and conditions. We'll hike to the falls and then decide on additional trails as time allows. We can
- opt hike up to the top of the falls, which is a long, steady incline,
- or enjoy it from below and choose any number of beautiful trails.
Tips for hiking:
- Bring enough water for the entire trip.
- Waterproof hiking shoes and hiking poles are advised.
- Dress for about 10+ degrees warmer than the outside temperature. You will get warm while hiking.
- Dress in layers. Layers work well to help you adjust your temperature as you get warm while hiking.
Dogs are welcome on the hike. Bring enough bags as pick up after your pet is a must. Please add a message in the comments and arrive 10 minutes early for a prehike sniff. My Goldens, ages 4 and 5 years old, will be with me. They love people and dogs.
Please keep your RSVP updated. If you are running late due to traffic, please comment on the event so we know to wait. We do not want to wait if we do not know if the person is coming. Also, it is respectful to the leaders who are taking time to organize the event.
By signing up you agree to release the organizers, event hosts and other members of the event from any liability. The trails may be muddy, uneven and have rocks and tree roots that sneak up out of the ground and could trip you :) Be prepared for whatever the weather or trail may throw at us!
Hope to see you on the trail!
