Hike Willow River followed by Pitchfork Brewing
Details
Sunday is looking to be the best day of the weekend so lets enjoy the weather with a hike at Willow River.
We'll meet at 1, do introductions, and hike for 6-7 miles. Consider any extra time you may need to get a state park pass noted below**. We'll hike at about a 16:30ish minute mile pace. We can take some time to see overlooks and of course the waterfall! We'll meet in the River Road parking lot and start from there. After the hike we can go to nearby Pitchfork Brewing for socializing. It is a great way to get to know your fellow hikers!!
**Willow River is a Wisconsin State Park so you will need a state park pass. Wisconsin has changed their state park passes so the pass is no longer the calendar year, it is valid for 12 months from the date of purchase. It is valid until the final day of the month/year is it marked. (Similar to MN state parks). Out of state license plates are $50/year and daily is $16. Passes can be purchased online or at the park.
Tips for hiking:
1. Dress in layers. Layers work well to help you adjust your temperature as you get warm while hiking.
2. Dress for about 10+ degrees warmer than the outside temperature. You will get warm while hiking.
4. Decent shoes. Sandals are not a good option.
5. Bring water as desired.
Dogs are welcome on the hike. Bring enough bags as pick up after your pet is a must.
Please keep your RSVP updated. If you are running late due to traffic, or getting a pass, please comment on the event so we know to wait. We do not want to wait if we do not know if the person is coming. Also, it is respectful to the leaders who are taking time to organize the event.
By signing up you agree to release the organizers, event hosts and other members of the event from any liability. The trails may be muddy, uneven and have rocks and tree roots that sneak up out of the ground and could trip you :) Be prepared for whatever the weather or trail may throw at us!
Hope to see you on the trail!
