About us
If you want to get outdoors, enjoy nature, and destress — this is the group for you. Please join us for fellowship in the great outdoors!
We love hiking, kayaking/canoeing, camping/backpacking, walking/racing, bicycling, etc. We are only allowed to pick 15 tags, but if it has to do with the outdoors, there's probably someone in this group who'd like to join you.
… and, of course, there's often food involved 😜
We look forward to spending time with you!

About this park:
Petit Jean State Park is an Arkansas classic, a natural and historic treasure that has welcomed travelers for decades. The natural beauty and ancient geology of the legendary Petit Jean Mountain inspired the creation of Arkansas’ first state park and with it our state park system. The park, which is located in Morrilton, AR, mirrors the mountain’s rugged beauty with its rustic-style, native log and stone facilities constructed by the Civilian Conservation Corps (CCC) beginning in 1933. The CCC built trails, roads, bridges, cabins, and the focal point of the park, historic Mather Lodge.Arkansas State Parks list:

There are over 20 miles of hiking trails to take on at the park. Hiking trails lead through forests and meadows, canyons, and along streams and the mountainside. See where nature formed sheer bluffs, the spectacular 91-foot Cedar Falls, Seven Hollows, and such distinctive features as Bear Cave, the Grotto, Natural Bridge, and other formations like carpet rocks and turtle rocks. We will be doing the short boardwalk trail to the falls overlook when we arrive at the park, but please also choose a 2nd trail when you RSVP.

Natchez Trace Trip
Town of Nashville, Tn, 234 W Washington St., Nashville, TN, USTraveling the entire Natchez Trace has been on my bucket list for a long time, so I'll be driving it this Labor Day Weekend, if anyone would like to join.
Everyone will be responsible for arranging their own carpooling (if so desired) and lodging. I'll be listing the rough itinerary here, so you can arrange your lodging.
Because of the distances, we will be driving the Trace in reverse (starting in Nashville, TN, and driving South to Natchez, MS.
- Friday — drive to Nashville (I will be heading out after work)
- Saturday — drive South on the Trace to halfway point (Tupelo, MS — Milepost 260), where we will spend the night.
- Sunday — drive to Natchez)
- Monday — drive back to Memphis
Splitting the Trace drive into 2 days gives us time to stop at interesting places along the way, since driving the entire 444-mile Natchez Trace Parkway takes approximately 10 hours of continuous driving.
There is also some fun hiking in Natchez, too.
More details to follow! Just wanted to get this on the calendar, so folks can sign up if they are interested.
