👣 Hike Description
Join us for a spectacular hike through the Royal landscapes of Windsor Great Park, magnificent Virginia Water Lake and finishing in the historic town of Windsor beneath the magnificent Windsor Castle.
Our hike begins along the peaceful shores of Virginia Water Lake before winding through the stunning Valley Gardens, famous for their vibrant rhododendrons and azaleas in spring. Along the way, we’ll visit the beautiful Cascade Waterfall, one of the park’s hidden gems and the fascinating Leptis Magna ruins, where ancient Roman columns brought from Libya in the 19th century create one of the park’s most unique historic sights before passing Wick Pond.
We’ll then explore some of the park’s most iconic landmarks — including the impressive Totem Pole, carved from a 600-year-old cedar tree, the historic Obelisk commemorating royal victories and Cow Pond, a picturesque spot filled with water lilies.
As we continue past the Royal Lodge and into Windsor Deer Park, keep an eye out for herds of deer roaming freely across the landscape. Then comes one of the iconic landmarks, the Copper Horse statue standing proudly on the hilltop.
From here, we join the famous iconic Long Walk — a breathtaking tree-lined avenue stretching all the way to Windsor Castle. With stunning views and centuries of royal history surrounding us, it’s one of the most iconic walks in England and the perfect finale to our journey.
We finish in the picturesque town of Windsor, where you’ll have time to relax, explore, or enjoy food and drinks by the riverside or in the town.
