Join Summit Trek & Travel, Adventure Crew, and Roads Rivers and Trails at Valley View Nature Preserve for an easy, leisurely stroll with author and through hiker, Derick Lugo.

Derick Lugo set out on the Appalachian Trail with no hiking experience -- and an extremely overweight backpack. Through his journey, he learned lessons on preparation, humility, race relations and nature’s wild unpredictability, lessons he wrote about in his memoir, "The Unlikely Thru-Hiker."

Meet at the trailhead on S. Milford Road, next to Pattison Elementary School for a casual hike and conversation.
