Sea Cliff, the Switzerland of Long Island

Details
Once a Victorian summer resort community, Sea Cliff, NY is now a year round residential town that continues to draw people attracted by both the views and the architectural eye candy. This approximately 4-5 mile walk offers charm, history vistas, and the stairs to go with it!
a. Getting there: From Penn Station, take the 10:17am Ronkonkoma line LIRR ($10.75 one way) to Sea Cliff, arriving at 11:22am. *The 10:17am train will change at Jamaica station at 10:37am (I will board from Jamaica.) Change trains for the 10:45am (Oyster Bay line) to Sea Cliff. We will regroup at the Sea Cliff station. *I do recommend getting the TrainTime app, as it does tell you the platform # for each train change.
b. Lunch: If you don’t bring your lunch, we will stop at the North Shore Farms market which is about a 10min walk from SC station, so you can pick up a sandwich, etc.
c. Plan on a stop at the Sea Cliff historical society: $5 entrance fee.
d. Weather: Steady rain cancels. If that happens I’ll reschedule for Sunday, June 15th. I will make an announcement by Friday afternoon to say if the walk is still on for Saturday.
e. Return times from Sea Cliff: On weekends, the return train times are limited (every 2 hours). I will aim for the 3:05pm train, the next one is 5:05pm.
f. Fee: Non-members of the Outdoor Club, will be charged $5 at the start of the walk.
