Manhattan
How to Find Us: Meet at the fountain in Bowling Green, a short walk from the 4 and 5 train station of that name and from the 2 and 3 train station at Wall Street. Toilets are available inside the nearby National Museum of the American Indian. The walk ends about 2:45 pm at Wall Street and Broadway near stations for the 2, 3, 4 and 5 trains.
Limited to 25 walkers. $5 for non-members of the Outdoors Club.
NOTE: This year, emblazoned on NYC’s official seal, marks the 400th anniversary of the founding in 1625 of New Amsterdam, which 40 years later, after the British evicted the Dutch, would become New York City. To celebrate the City's 400th birthday, we’ll follow a route in lower Manhattan that traces the boundaries of the Dutch colony and includes memorials to its early settlers and leaders.
