The Little Red LightHouse and More- A Jane's walk
Details
Veteran Outdoors Club hike leader Margo Moss and Mary DiPerna the new Outdoors Club President, invite you to join us on a free Jane’s walk sponsored by the Municipal Arts Society (MAS) May 3. Please Do Not RSVP on Meetup. Sign up for the walk via the MAS The Little Red Light House & More – The Municipal Art Society of New York for exact time and location details.
This walk introduces the northern end of Manhattan not often seen day-to-day. We start from the George Washington Bridge Bus Station with its up front and center view of the GWB. A brief walk through city streets gets us to the Hudson River path where our first stop will be the famous, historic Little Red Light House. Continuing south on the shore path, we’ll see blossoming trees and will pass the famous Riverbank State Park. We will walk along Riverside Park, passing Riverside Church and Grant’s Tomb. Our walk ends at the beautiful and historic Riverside Park Gardens at 91st Street and Riverside Drive.
The walk is just under 5 miles and here are drop out points along the way. Wear comfortable shoes and be sure to bring water and a snack.
We are looking forward to sharing this lesser-known part of Manhattan with you all.
