Date change!! Bird Watching, Dinner and Holiday Trail of Lights

date change due to weather* Hatteras Island has their annual trail of lights in December. Let’s head down that way, and stop off at Pea Island to do a little bird watching. We will continue headed south and stop for dinner somewhere and then go hike the holiday trail of lights on Hatteras Island after dark.
Don’t worry if you aren’t a big bird watcher we’re really just going out to observe and see all of the amazing migratory birds that end up at Pea Island in the winter. We will probably spend no more than about an hour at Pea Island. Once we know how many people, we will pick a restaurant between there and Hatteras Island and then we’ll head on down to the Holliday trail of lights.
Meet at Pea Island visitor center at 2 o’clock or meet at the Baum Center in KDH at 1:30 if you want to carpool. Rain/weather date - Dec 20.
Bring binoculars if you have them and wear weather appropriate clothes and comfortable shoes. Hiking shoes are not needed since we will be on a path walking around the North Pond and a trail on Hatteras.
