Cape Cod Public Speaking: Beat Your Fears & Have a Whale of a Time
Details
Speaking is a big part of your daily life. Are you ready to find your voice, enhance your abilities, and even learn to engage an audience?
Our Meetup is the place for you to:
> Advance your career
> Learn to better organize your thoughts
> Speak on your feet
> Tell better stories
We’re Outermost Toast, a chapter of Toastmasters International - an eclectic group that gathers twice a month to learn and practice together. Although we follow the time-tested Toastmasters curriculum, we are incredibly laid-back - we concentrate on sharpening speaking skills but we're just as focused on everyone having fun.
Fun, laughter, and support – those are three components that color everything we do. You will never encounter a more supportive environment; the perfect place to tackle your fear of public speaking.
What to expect at our meetings:
> 1 or 2 people usually present prepared speeches, which are evaluated with the utmost care and support.
> Another exercise helps us learn to speak on our toes. People give 1-to-2-minute impromptu answers to questions. You're welcome to participate, but no pressure.
> We select a “Word Of The Day” that all speakers are encouraged to use; another fun way to encourage creativity.
> You'll find a low-key, upbeat environment with lots of laughter and encouragement.
> Each meeting concludes with snacks and a chance to socialize. After all, we love food almost as much as conversation.
All that’s missing is you!
Join us on the first and third Monday of every month.
7:00 pm to 8:30 pm (with snacks to follow)
