Outlandish Outdoors

We are Outlandish a specialty outdoor wear store and we believe the outdoors belong to all of us. Based in Brooklyn, our shop is just the starting point — the heart of what we do lives in our programming. Through Hikeish, our monthly community hikes, Trailish, our trail running program, and our Book Club, we create intentional spaces for BIPOC and historically excluded communities to gather, move, learn, and build real relationships outside. We design these experiences to lower barriers, spark confidence, and make getting outside feel welcoming rather than intimidating. Whether we’re leading first-time hikers upstate, logging miles together on the trail, or unpacking stories that explore identity and nature, our mission is the same: to cultivate connection, representation, and joy in outdoor spaces that haven’t always felt accessible.
