Join Christine Carr and Alë Veffer for a special series of free yoga classes for those in 2SLGBTQ+ communities and their allies! These classes are provided by Yoga in Bowness with support from Calgary Outlink.

Yoga in Bowness is offering four free classes in July and August. They fall on Sundays, 5:00 - 6:15 PM. Each class will offer something a little bit different, to provide a whole perspective and experience of the diverse styles and approaches to yoga. While it is recommended to attend all four classes to gain a complete experience of the program, you can also choose to attend just one class (or as many as you are able to).

Registration is required to join the classes. Please visit the Yoga in Bowness registration portal here to sign up, and use the code ‘OutlinkYoga2023’ to apply for free at check-out. You will need to create an account on their website to register. Please note that an RSVP to the Meetup event will not guarantee you a spot - use the link above.

Nearby bus stops include Route #1 (WB Bowness Road @ 62 St NW), Route #90 (EB Hospital Drive @ Health Science CE NW), or Route #40 (WB 31 Ave NW @ Bowview Road). There is free parking on the premises.

Yoga in Bowness strives to make their space safe and accessible to all. There are all-gender change rooms and washrooms.

No previous yoga experience is required to attend. The classes are accessible to beginners. The intention is that through the classes, students will build self-awareness, skills, and techniques to be able to develop their own yoga practice, or join regular classes. Senior yoga instructors Christine and Alë have decades of experience working with bodies in many ways, and are connected to 2SLGBTQ+ communities. They are invested in creating a safe practice, and sharing teachings of yoga in a way that is inclusive for all.

These events are part of Outlink’s #RainbowRec23 series, where we provide or support recreational opportunities for those in 2SLGBTQ+ communities and their allies. Our hope is to provide thoughtful spaces for others to connect through these activities.
