Lavender Teatime (in-person) - Holiday Movie Night!

We will be having a holiday movie night together and watching "Christmas at the Ranch"! We'll provide snacks and drinks, just bring yourselves and your sapphic holiday spirit!

Synopsis: When Haley returns to her family's struggling ranch for Christmas, she falls in love with the horses and wilderness—and irresistible ranch hand Kate.

*NEW LOCATION* We are now meeting at the new CommunityWise Resource Centre at Deerfoot 17 (2710 17 Ave SE)!

When you arrive, please take the elevator to the second floor. Enter the space through the main doors on the second floor. Follow the signs to the room! There will be a door propped open for you to enter through. We will be in the Third Common Room (a lounge space with colourful couches).

We will be starting the movie right at 6:30, so please arrive as close to the start time as you can!

Lavender Teatime is a monthly community group hosted through Calgary Outlink that serves as a supportive social space for those whose identities are informed and understood in relation to experiences of queer womanhood, including trans, non binary, and cis folks as they feel comfortable in this space. Regular meetings are held on the 1st and 3rd Wednesday of every month. Special monthly meetings with various activities are held once a month.

We understand and recognize that there can be a lot of nuance to how each of us identifies and that we do not all use the same language even when we might share similar experiences. We recognize also that our unique identities can shape the ways we experience and are experienced by the world and that our experiences might not align even when we share identities. We celebrate these differences and strive to create space where all our beautiful diversity can shine! There are endless ways to identify and even more ways of being in community. If you feel that you align with this group, you are welcome here!

This meetup is intended as a space for casual connection. This is not a structured therapy group nor is it a dating space. If you are looking for further support, Outlink staff are available to meet with you one-on-one or in small groups by phone, text based messaging, or video call upon request. They can also help connect you to other counselling and support services.

Please note that this meeting is moderated by Outlink staff/volunteers who reserve the right to remove anyone from the group who is in violation of our Safer Space Ground Rules.

This group meeting will be held in-person at the NEW CommunityWise Resource Centre on the 2nd floor at the Deerfoot 17 Building at 2710 17 Ave SE (please see below for public health safety precautions). There are some visitor and customer parking stalls available onsite. There is some street parking available around the building (please be mindful of the permit parking signs). The nearest LRT Station is Barlow/Max Bell. The Max Purple Bus stop is located at nearby at 26 St SE and International Avenue. Other buses are nearby in the area as well.

Public health and the safety of our communities is very important to us! The following safety practices are put in place for our in-person programming:

• Wearing a mask is strongly encouraged.
• If you have any cold, flu, or Covid symptoms (ex. fever, cough, sore throat, runny nose), we ask that you please do not attend.
• The maximum room capacity is about 20 people.
