SATURDAY AFTERNOON PICKLEBALL: SHUFFLED DOUBLES
This league is the same format as our Monday night league, where you register as an individual and play doubles with rotating partners each week. Now affectionally known as "Shuffled Doubles"!
SATURDAY AFTERNOON PICKLEBALL: SINGLES
This league is true singles pickleball, not to be confused with our "shuffled doubles" leagues. This league will run at the same time as our Saturday afternoon shuffled doubles league, but players MAY play in both so long as they are comfortable playing up to three hours of pickleball.
Singles is a much less played format of Pickleball in recreational play, so this league is open to Intermediate level players and up. If you are a beginner level player, doubles is the best way to get yourself familiar with the game and build your skill set before considering singles play.
DUPR + GPN
You will need to set up a DUPR account and a Global Pickleball Network account (both free) in order to play in this league. League scheduling, matches and standings will be run through GPN and all match scores will be submitted to DUPR and go towards your doubles DUPR rating.
WHAT IS A PICKLEBALL SKILL RATING?
It's okay if you don't know your skill. There are multiple rating systems currently in use. For the sake of this league, you can reference: USA Pickleball Skill Rating Guide
For placing yourself in the correct division, please refer to the following breakdown: (these guidelines are based on the USA Pickleball definitions and your DUPR or other rating may be slightly lower than your self ranking based on USA Pickleball’s criteria)
Beginners is 2.5 or below
Low Intermediate is around 3.0
High Intermediate is around 3.5
Advanced is 4.0 and above

LEAGUE INFORMATION
Location: Fairfax High School Tennis Courts
1:30pm - 4:30pm
Early Bird: $90 Per Player
Regular: $95 Per Player
Late Registration: $100 Per Player
All players will register as a free agent.
You will compete in weekly randomized pairs within your division. Make new friends, play the fastest growing sport in the nation, and experience diverse and competitive play.
Players will register as solo players. Over the course of the regular season, players will be paired in random pods of 4 or 5 and compete in different duos of the same skill set. You'll compete for yourself. At the end of the season, players will be paired up according to their standings for a playoff tournament. All matches, including finals, will be submitted to DUPR and go towards your overall DUPR doubles rating.
Players are expected to show up weekly to compete in their matches. If you are unable to attend weekly matches you will have a forfeit recorded which may negatively impact your standings.
