Welcome to the Village is an introduction to Outsiders Village: what it is, what it stands for, how people can participate, and the many ways villagers can contribute to what we’re building together.
We’ll talk about the ideas behind the Village, including connection, affinity, mutual support, autonomy, consent, human-sized relationships, and creating spaces where people can show up as themselves.
You’ll also learn how the Village is beginning to work in practice: affinity and topic gatherings, social events, mutual support spaces, discussions, hosting and facilitating, and other things villagers may want to create.
There will be plenty of room for questions and conversation. You do not need to read all of the Village documents before attending; the goal of this gathering is to give you a useful introduction without making you digest an entire small library first. 😄
Whether you want to attend gatherings, meet people with shared experiences, host something of your own, facilitate, contribute skills or ideas, or simply understand what Outsiders Village is becoming, you’re welcome.
