Village Facilitators Mutual Support is a monthly gathering for people who host or facilitate Outsiders Village events—or who are interested in learning how.
Hosting and facilitating can be joyful, awkward, surprising, exhausting, and occasionally delightfully unruly. This is a place to talk honestly with other villagers about what comes up.
We might talk about things like:
- difficult or disruptive group dynamics
- boundaries and consent
- helping quieter people have room to participate
- what to do when a gathering goes differently than expected
- balancing structure with openness
- conflict, repair, and accountability
- accessibility and participation needs
- ideas for new gatherings
- what support would make hosting or facilitating easier
You do not need to be an experienced facilitator. If you are thinking about hosting something for the first time, you are welcome to come ask questions, listen, and learn from people who have done it before.
This is mutual support, not supervision or certification. Nobody here is the boss of anyone else. The goal is to share experience, support one another, learn together, and make it easier for more villagers to create gatherings without having to figure everything out alone.
Hosts are welcome too. In Outsiders Village, hosting and facilitating may be separate roles or may be done by the same person.
Come with a question, a story, an idea, a difficult situation, or just curiosity about how people hold good spaces together.
