Green River Gorge via Black Diamond Bakery and Hike + "Sumo Sushi"

Lets explore the Black Diamond Green River Gorge area starting with the bakery! Then will drop down a short steep private trail into the scenic water fall gorge canyon near by!

After the gorge we will do a mini hike to Franklin and the remains of this historic mining town and cemetery............ Also the bottomless below sea level drop above ground mine shaft!

Description

• Distance: Two short separate hikes (A fee 5.00 $$ gorge hike 2 mile RT) Another 3+ miles RT to the ghost town and cemetery!

• Elevation gain: 700+

• High point: 1000 ft

• Difficulty: Moderate with many steep slippery steps

• Hiking time: 3+ hours

• Hiking speed: Leisurely pace with plenty of breaks

What to bring:

Trekking poles, gloves, rain gear, layered clothing, sturdy boots, camera, sunscreen, water and snacks.

Schedule

• 12:00 Noon - Black Diamond Bakery (Where we will all enjoy fresh Bakery goodies Mini lunch.......... Leave for hike 12:30 sharp!

• 1:15 PM - Gorge hike

• 2:30 PM - Historic Franklin hike

• 5:00 PM - Sumo Sushi (Our reward)

Always expect to get home much later than expected!

Carpools encouraged and be generous with gas money!
