Lake Chelan-Stehekin Ferry

Join us on a cool road trip to Lake Chelan for a couple of days with, friends, food, fun and adventures. The highlight will be a beautiful ferry boat ride to Stehekin a remote community in the North Cascades, accessible only by boat, floatplane, or foot, as there are no roads connecting it to the outside world, known for its stunning scenery and isolation.

ITINERARY

Day 1 - Sunday
9:00 Depart (earlier/later - depending on where you are coming from)
11:30 meet in Leavenworth to stretch our legs and have lunch at The Munchen Haus, 709 Front Street (brats, etc.) After lunch we can enjoy a walk along Waterfront Park or head over to the Aplets and Cotlets shop for a tour of their facility 17 Mission Ave, Cashmere.
2:00 Head over to Chelan, arrive 3ish and check into our motel rooms.
3:30-5:00 Meet at Succession Winery, 78 Swartout Rd, Manson, for happy hour and live acoustic music by Owen Barnet.
6:00 Dinner at Tin Lilly, 229 E Woodin Ave., Chelan

Day 2 -Monday
Breakfast - TBD - most likely in the lobby of the motel
8:00 - head over to Chelan Landing to catch the 8:30 ferry (Lady Express approx. $75rt) to Stehekin. 1418 W. Woodin Ave. About 10 minutes from the motel. This is a 2-1/2 hour ferry ride to Stehekin with a few stops along the way, 1-1/2 stay in Stehekin and 2-1/2 ride back with the same stops back. The ferry is supposed to have a snack bar but you are welcome to bring your own snacks/lunch in a backpack or small cooler. We could also visit the pastry shop in Stehekin for lunch/dessert (the food looks amazing) but it’s a 2 mile walk each way and we may prefer spending our limited time exploring Stehekin and hopefully Rainbow Falls.
12:30 Be on board the ferry and heading back to Chelan
3:00 Arrive back at Chelan Landing and head back to our rooms, explore the town of Chelan and/or take a fun walk along the lake.
5:00 Happy Hour - TBD
6:00 Dinner at Andante Italian Restaurant, 113 E Emerson, Chelan

Day 3
9:00 Breakfast - TBD
11:00 check out. The days is open to heading home whenever you like or sticking around and enjoying the day. Suggested stops on the way back: Deception Falls trail (near Stevens Pass) and/or Iron Goat Trail (near Skyhomish).

Accommodations:
We decided it would be more convenient to stay in Chelan at The Chelan Riverwalk Inn, which is a modest but affordable motel. The staff is excellent and the vibe is good. There are only 12 rooms available that we were able to block out and they will be offered on a first call bases. Please call 509-682-2627 and mention that you are with Stefan’s group. They will ask you for a $100 deposit but will be refundable if something comes up and you need to cancel. Check with the front desk for details when you call.

Final note: We are hoping for good weather but may change boat ride date to Tuesday if weather goes south so please be flexible!
