About us
The "Over 40's" is a guideline, and by no means set in stone. Whatever the age though, we are always a really friendly bunch and nobody ever finds it difficult to fall straight in with the group at their first meeting.
We do a lot of green walks, and there are some quiz nights, bowling events, pub nights etc dotted into the mix when I get time.
Our events are mainly based around the Essex/East London area, but we do venture further afield on occasion. For instance, the odd day trip to Southend has been a favourite for a couple of years now.
I hope to see you at the next event.

Green Walk (on paths) - Elm Park, Dagenham Village, Hornchurch + (optional) Pub
Elm Park Station, The Broadway, Elm Park, Greater London, GBI'm going to do a walk around the greenery of Elm Park & Hornchurch this week, but trying to stay on hard paths. I cannot give a cast iron guarantee that we won't find the odd little dollop of mud though.
The last time I did this walk, it clocked in at 9 miles, so I'm looking at cutting some of the padding out this time around.
We're meeting at Elm Park Station 11am, when we'll be off through Harrow Lodge Park and over to The Chase & Breton Park. Then its off to Dagenham Village, and Dagenham Parish Church facing the lovely Cross Keys Pub (both pictured above). We'll stop for our mid-walk coffee in the pub.
After our coffee break we'll go across Beam Parklands to Ingrebourne Woods and to finish at The Railway Pub by Hornchurch Station where some well deserved (optional) food and/or drink awaits those who are staying.
Those parked at the start point can get a train one stop back, or a 252 bus, or do the 0.8 mile walk. You could also park by The Railway in the morning and get a train one stop back to the meet point; then your car is there when we finish.
If you choose to park near the start point, there are side roads in Elm Park where the yellow lines don't apply on a Saturday. Diban Avenue RM12 4YH is one example, but there's a lot of parking around.
If you're coming by train, its Elm Park Station on the District Line.
Elm Park is also served by buses 165, 252, 365, 372.

A few members take the option of paying £20 for 6 months. No shrapnel please.
