London's Royal Parks Walk + (optional) Pub

Bren has kindly volunteered to run this approximately six mile walk across London's royal parks, with an optional pub visit at the end. Those who don't come to the pub can jump on the Central Line home from Holland Park. The estimated end-time on the event does include pub time - we expect to end the walk around 3pm.

Those who prefer a shorter walk will be able to jump off anywhere.

I (Jeff) won't be there myself, and the meet point is upstairs at The Liberty Bounds Wetherspoon (EC3N 4AA) at 11am for a coffee. The pub is a few minutes walk from Tower Hill Station.

We'll set off along the north bank of the Thames then cross Millennium Bridge; follow the Southbank until we cross Hungerford Bridge, and enter St James park via Horse Guards Parade. Onwards via Buckingham palace into Green Park and then Hyde Park. Then it will be time for tea (& toilets) by the Serpentine Lido.

We'll take a look at Diana's memorial fountain, go on to Kensington Gardens and a stroll to Kensington Palace where we can visit Diana's statue & garden. Then its past the Israeli Embassy to enter Holland park with its Kyoto Japanese garden.

We may occasionally cross or walk short distances on roads; country and woodland tracks can be muddy or slippery; animals may be encountered on occasion.
