Are you a man? Over 50? Finding it hard to make social connections here in a tightly knit society?
Well this is the group for you!
Let’s face it, women are much better than we are at organising their social lives and making friends. Here on meetup there a lot of groups for them and young people whose main aim in life seems to be partying. I don’t feel as though I fit in.
I am starting a group which caters to the social needs of men over 50. I don’t know exactly what it would look like yet and am open to ideas. I’d like to work with you to build and run the group.
This isn’t a gay group, but gay men are welcome.
The group will be international in nature and open to men of any nationality but will operate in English.
Who am I?
I am London Irish and first came to Madrid in 1988 to support Spain’s first steps into software engineering. I have worked all over the world and started my management consulting business, which operates between Spain and the UK, 10 years ago. I have four boys that all live here.
I have varied interests including international politics, psychology, religion, music, art, business, Spanish history, playing and watching sport (mainly football, rugby and tennis), yoga, meditation, economics, literature, art and culture.
Next steps
I’d like your help to design what the group should be, which activities, where we should go, how often, etc.
To that end I’m organising a teams call on Tuesday 3rd May at 19:00.
