Personal Ads for Future Rides by Members

This is not a ride but a post to advise members they can open discussions on future bike trips online here. We get lots of members looking for other members to join them on future trips eg: “I am thinking of doing the timber trail in October – anyone interested?” “I want to do the Alps to Ocean at Christmas……… I want to do the Waihi trip on the weekend…..The problem is however is that the right person who wants to do a similar trip is not always there at that time or ride….

Having done lots of these trips there are some real benefits in doing them as a small group particularly logistics, safety, know-how, company and perhaps accommodation.

If you are interested in being advised of what other members are doing by way of personal rides and potentially want to join in simply join this event.

If you want to ask if members are interested in doing a ride then join this event, go to the comments section below this narrative and advise what ride(s) you are proposing and dates – can be approximate. You may also want to supply an E-Mail address or phone number so that responders can contact you directly outside of the website.

If you are not interested in receiving these e-mails about rides people want to do not join this event or change your attendance to a No.

What happens is that the comments you make here are then sent to only the members who are enrolled for this event and if they are interested in coming on your ride with you they can reply to your comments either direct to you or via the website. Note this is different to the Discussions Tab on the Website which goes to all members.

If anybody’s personal ride gets major interest (as in lots of members wanting to do it) then we will quite happily work with the proposer to set up a separate event.

If this idea works for members then come January when this non-existent ride occurs we will cancel it and set up a new one for next year.

If we get lots of "comments" in the interim we will cull the ones past their use by date.
