This is a little short on notice due to the vagaries of the weather - at the moment there looks to be a good spot next Thursday. If by some strange event the weather changes we will still go if there are showers but may postpone if there is rain and / or high winds.

Start point is the same as our Ambury Park ride from being the carpark at Taumanu Reserve or carpark next to public toilets at bottom of Seacliffe Road, Hillsborough. As compared to the Ambury Park Ride this is however quite a different beast being a straight run starting from Onehunga going left around Mangere on cycle paths, along the side of the Airport Motorway on a cycleway, through some parks, round the back of the airport hangars, under the airport flight path and out to Puhinui Reserve which has some outstanding views over the Manukau harbour and some gravel roads to play on.

On the way back we will stop in at Percy for lunch. Along the way there is an option of going up Mangere mountain for the view.

The ride is 95% concrete, flat and around 35ks long excluding Mangere Mountain. If you like looking at planes and views of airports this is the ride for you. Outstanding views of the runways and planes arriving and departing.

John Spray will be leading this ride as he came up with it in the first place. He leads rides every Monday morning which so far have been quite different to the normal ones we do so if you want to look at some different areas of Auckland ask him to join you up to his Whats App group.

Percy is a nice little café by the airport we used for the Ambury Park ride. Menu is available online.

So if you feel like a bit of exercise and some sightseeing come and have a look see. As normal then:

• Please bring a spare tube for your particular bike wheel size.
• We travel at circa 20 ks an hour except for down hills.
• We have a tail end Charlie to make sure riders do not get lost. We are not too fond of leaving people behind.
• Assistance will be rendered for any mechanical issues but we are not bike mechanics.
• If you are signed up for the ride but change your mind at the last minute please text or phone me on 021 348 979 to advise.
• The ride is subject to weather. If it is just showers we will still run it but rain will cause postponement in which case we will advise you.
