Approx 45km and 1150m of elevation gain. This is a fairly serious ride. If you don't have an idea of what 1150m of elevation gain is like this ride is not for you!

I haven't done it all in one go but have done enough to get a good idea. I have a 500 watthour battery but I will need to ride some of it in eco mode to make the distance. This is a long ride and there is no rush. I don't know how long it will take. Bring plenty to eat and drink on the way.

I parked at the Clevedon wharf opposite the fire station or if that is too secluded for you then park on the main Clevedon road. Pick up (and meeting point) is the Hallertau car park which is a short distance from the wharf.

Shuttle is $57.50

Don't book the shuttle just yet. Once we get an idea of numbers I will check that there is enough spaces available then post a message on this ride to confirm. I am thinking the 1st of March would be a good date to do this. If you leave it too late you might miss out. The shuttle runs regardless of the weather, so we will just have to hope it is fine.

Looks like there is only an 8.00am pick up option so you would need to be there (in Clevedon) and ready by 7.45am

I am thinking of doing the Kaiaua to Clevedon direction. This saves driving to Kaiaua. Surprisingly there isn't much difference in elevation gain either way. We get the nasty climb at the Kaiaua end over with early and we get the long descent into Clevedon. I have already tested the pub in Clevedon. You will need a cold beer after this ride and they make their own.

I know a large number of you but if you sign on for this ride and I think you may have underestimated it, or I don't know you, I might just check in with you that you are up to it.
